Race Report September 22nd 2009
Hey everyone! I guess you could say it has been a little while since my last Race Report. Lots of stuff has been moving and shaking in my life and my racing since my last update. I have competed in quite a few races, and the most exciting thing in my life is that I recently got engaged! I am super stoked on getting married!

After the CCS VIR round there was a little slow point in my schedule. I raced at Road Atlanta, and then had two weekends off, then was the AMA Pro race at Mid - Ohio. I raced at Mid-Ohio with Four Feathers Racing for Scotty VanHawk. Scotty has been a friend of mine for quite a while now and he needed someone to ride his bikes during the Pro weekend. I took advantage of the opportunity and drove up to check out how the NEW AMA runs their weekends.

All in all it was an alright weekend. I rode hard and finished alright on the equipment. The team had a few problems with the bikes. In Daytona Sportbike Race One the bike had some transmission problems, and in American Superbike, the clutch fried in Race One as well. So the two DNFs on Saturday were chalked up as a bad day. In Sunday’s races I finished 11th in American Superbike and 17th in Daytona Sportbike.

After the Mid-Ohio weekend I had another two weekends off. Some of the tracks that WERA and CCS were going to, I don’t think are safe enough to race at so I decided to do other stuff. The most important of which was propose to Teri. July 24th was her birthday weekend so I had a pretty awesome weekend planned. We drove up to the Cherohala Skyway in the morning and rode our bicycles up about 12.5 miles and 3000 feet of elevation. I had it planned out to ask her to marry me on one of the look outs that over looked the valley down below. It was an awesome weekend; we stayed up in Tellico Plains Tennessee. We basically spent the weekend riding our bicycles and having a good time.

The next race weekend was the WERA Cycle Jam at VIR. I planned to hang out the week after and compete in the AMA Pro weekend that was following the WERA event. During the Cycle Jam I must have had my head screwed on too tight. I made some bonehead mistakes on Saturday and crashed out of both my races. On Sunday I calmed down and managed a 4th after rebuilding a bike. That was the first time this season that I just felt like I made stupid rookie mistakes.

I raced the AMA weekend on my own Kawasaki ZX6R, Teri and I assembled a team for the weekend. Rick Matheny came up and was my Crew Chief, Teri was the head mechanic, and Toland Shipp helped out where ever we needed it. I ended up finishing 12th and 13th during the weekend, I found out some problems that I had with my bike when I switched over to the spec Dunlop’s. Daytona Sportbike certainly is a competitive class. It was a fun weekend racing and I had a great time with my friends. I really feel like I belong in the AMA Pro Paddock, I miss it!
After the AMA weekend at VIR I had another two weekends off then two weekends in a row racing. One was at Jennings GP and another was at Barber Motorsports Park. Both weekends went good. I will post up all the results as the bottom of the page.

The two BIG races I am getting ready for are the Michelin Nationals at Barber Motorsports Park and The Grand National Finals at Road Atlanta. I am really excited to go race! I will be sure to update you guys ASAP!
